We're incredibly proud to celebrate Ethan Gillum, a 2024 graduate of GCHS! After completing a rigorous 10-week Boot Camp and another 10 weeks in Technical School, Ethan has officially earned his place as an Air Framer in the U.S. Navy! Ethan is now skilled in working on helicopters, a crucial role that ensures the safety and success of countless missions.
Next week, he’s off to his ultimate command in Norfolk, Virginia, where he'll continue his journey serving our country with dedication and bravery. Please join us in congratulating Ethan and thanking him for his service to our nation.

On September 26th, our local McDonalds restaurants will donate 10% of all digital sales made through the McDonald’s App directly to GCHS athletics. Garrard County Schools and Lancaster Elementary School are aware of a post that is being circulated about a school named Lancaster School. That school is located in the United Kingdom, but we have notified local law enforcement so we can continue to monitor. Our SROs continue to be active and engaged in all our buildings. We will continue to work with law enforcement to maintain the highest level of safety possible.

Garrard County High School would like to officially welcome Ms. Meranda Cody to the GCHS Science team!👏 Ms. Cody says, "My name is Meranda Cody and I am so excited to be a part of the Garrard County family! I am a mom of 2 teenagers that keep me busy between sports and other activities. I graduated from Pulaski County High School in Somerset, where I grew up. I received my Bachelors in Public Health from Eastern Kentucky University, where I also played collegiate golf. I decided to finally go back and become a teacher after working in the school system for several years. I am currently attending the University of the Cumberlands, where I am completing my Masters of Arts in Teaching degree, with the emphasis in Science and Special Education. I am so excited that I am given the opportunity to be a smiling face and a teacher that likes to "think outside the box" to keep my students engaged and learning. GO GOLDEN LIONS! "
Last night, Garrard County Schools and Garrard Middle School were made aware of a potential threat to GMS. The following was sent to all middle school parents this morning. We are now sharing globally.
Garrard Middle School is aware of the social media post made referencing a potential threat towards GMS. We have been in contact with local law enforcement and the individual has been charged with 1st Degree Terroristic Threatening. Out of an abundance of caution we will have an increased presence of law enforcement to provide additional security along with our SRO at GMS. We appreciate the support and swift actions of our local law enforcement in this matter. We are committed to the safety and security of our students and staff. We remain in contact with law enforcement and ask that if you know any more information to please reach out to local law enforcement.
Please know we will continue to work with law enforcement as needed in order to provide any further support or assistance.

Senior Sunrise 2024 🌅
This morning, we made history! The Class of 2025 gathered for our first-ever Senior Sunrise on the brand new football field. Watching the sun rise over the field where we'll create so many memories this year was unforgettable. Here’s to a year of firsts, lasts, and everything in between. Let’s make it count, seniors!
