Garrard County High School would like to officially welcome Mr. Jordan Humphress to the GCHS team!👏 We are excited to welcome Jordan Humphress as the new Band Director at Garrard County High School! With an impressive background, Jordan served as Director of Bands at Adair County High School from 2021 to 2024, leading the program to numerous accolades, including three KMEA State Championships, a Bands of America Class A Regional Championship, and the prestigious John Philip Sousa Foundation’s Sudler Shield.
Beyond these achievements, he has worked with ensembles of all kinds, from jazz bands to winter guards, and has guided countless students to success in district and state honors programs. Jordan’s dedication to music education and his vision for excellence will undoubtedly inspire our students and community.

Our GCHS Dance Team is hosting an Open Dance Clinic and Tryout! The clinic will take place in the GCHS cafeteria on December 9th from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Big Congratulations to Garrard County High School Sophomore Ashlyn Scott! 👏🎨 Ashlyn earned 1st Place in the Visual Art category and also won the Public's Choice Award in the recent competition. She will be receiving a check for $875!

We had a GREAT time welcoming families and students to check out and enjoy our athletic facilities tonight! From running the bases on our baseball and softball fields to practicing tennis serves, scoring penalty kicks, and nailing field goals, students and families were all smiles! A fantastic way to show our appreciation for the incredible support of our community.

We're incredibly proud to celebrate Ethan Gillum, a 2024 graduate of GCHS! After completing a rigorous 10-week Boot Camp and another 10 weeks in Technical School, Ethan has officially earned his place as an Air Framer in the U.S. Navy! Ethan is now skilled in working on helicopters, a crucial role that ensures the safety and success of countless missions.
Next week, he’s off to his ultimate command in Norfolk, Virginia, where he'll continue his journey serving our country with dedication and bravery. Please join us in congratulating Ethan and thanking him for his service to our nation.

On September 26th, our local McDonalds restaurants will donate 10% of all digital sales made through the McDonald’s App directly to GCHS athletics.
