Don't forget about this week's event! Garrard County Schools' Youth Service Center is hosting a Steered Straight event, "Vaping Me Crazy," on March 23rd, 2023 at Garrard Middle School. This will be a free seminar for parents and students on vaping and drug education. Dinner will be provided at 5:00PM (first come, first serve), and the presentation will begin at 6:00PM. We hope to see you there!

Garrard County Schools will be utilizing a Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) Day tomorrow, Friday, March 3rd, 2023. Students will report to classes virtually.
Congratulations to the GMS Odyssey of the Mind Team - Dalton Isaacs, Grayson Brunelle, Sawyer Sutton, Emorie Martin, Delia Morris, and Austin Seagraves, on advancing to the state competition in March at Boyle County High School. The Odyssey of the Mind is a creative problem-solving program that encourages students to think outside of the box. This event was the first time these students participated in KY Odyssey at the East Central Regional Tournament at Corbin High School. These students are part of the Gifted and Talented Program under the direction of Tisha Weaver. The team received a perfect score in the Spontaneous Category and were also judged on their 'Pirates and the Treasure' skit. #gmsproud

Today, Mr. Carrier's students worked diligently on a Document-Based Question Essay. Students read information and wrote their essay comparing the Knights of Europe and the Samurai of Japan. Ms. Huff's and Ms. Bowman's 7th Grade Math classroom had to determine if a triangle could be made by measuring the length of each side. Students completed an activity with straws cut in all lengths to practice this learning target! #gmsproud
Today is Wednesday, so enjoy our Worldly Wednesday post! Mr. Simpson's 6th Grade students played "Roll a Word Dice." Depending on which number was rolled, the students were given a task to complete. Students must roll until all key terms have been used! The last task was to act out the word, and have a team members guess which key term is trying to be demonstrated! #worldlywednesday #gmsproud
