GC PARENTS AND FAMILIES: Garrard County Schools Online Registration is now open! The Online Registration process, completed through Parent Portal, will allow you fill out the necessary back-to-school paperwork online. Online Registration does not replace our Back-to-School Nights, but will greatly reduce the amount of paperwork needed to be completed on those nights. There will be detailed directions posted on our page to help you with the process. There will be separate directions for parent/families of existing GC students and new-to-the-district students. PARENTS AND GUARDIANS: Don't forget to activate your parent portal accounts! Parents/Guardians will need an active parent portal account starting July 1st, 2022 to register students for the upcoming school year- this will help replace the numerous hard copies parents/guardians fill out on back to school nights. If you do not have an active parent portal account, please visit your student’s school to set up your account. Your school will provide your user specific activation key. If you have multiple students in the district- setting up your account at one school will include all of your students. You will need to bring a valid ID to set up your account. You will not be able to register your student(s) for the next school year without creating this account. If you have any questions regarding your Parent Portal account, please contact your school.

Garrard Middle School would like to welcome our new 8th Grade English Language Arts Teacher, Ms. Joy Mattingly.
Ms. Joy Mattingly has taught for 22 years, 13 of those in junior high/middle schools. Ms. Mattingly says, "I especially love working with this age group because of their enthusiasm and creativity–and I can’t wait to meet my students!" Ms. Mattingly received her bachelor’s degree from Miami University and her Master’s from Georgetown College in addition to the many lessons she has learned from colleagues and mentors along the way.
Ms. Mattingly says, "When I am not in the classroom, I am spending time and/or facetiming with my children–two boys and two girls, plus my amazing six-year-old grandson. My hobbies include reading, writing stories, and playing the guitar. I am so thrilled for the opportunity to teach 8th grade English Language Arts at Garrard Middle School this upcoming year- 2022-23 will be an incredible year!"
Garrard Middle School would like to welcome our new Family Consumer Science Teacher, Ms. Lekisha Hembree!
Ms. Lekisha Hembree was born and raised in Berea ,KY. She graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a BS in Family and Consumer Sciences Education. Ms. Hembree says, "I chose to be a FCS teacher because she believes FCS teaches children skills and concepts they need to be successful in life!" Ms. Hembree also says, "Some of my hobbies include cooking, baking and decorating cakes or cupcakes. I am looking forward to an awesome school year!"

Garrard Middle School would like to welcome our new 7th and 8th Grade Special Education Teacher, Mr. John Anderson!
This is Mr. Anderson's second year in education, but first year in Garrard County. Previously, Mr. Anderson taught in Jessamine County. In his free time, Mr. Anderson enjoys running, swimming, biking, and coaching the rec league swim team in the summers. Mr. Anderson says, "I am excited for the opportunity to work at the middle school level, this age of students is my favorite!"
Garrard Middle School would like to welcome our new JAG Teacher, Mr. Tyler Robinson!
Mr. Robinson graduated from the University of Kentucky with his Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies in 2016 and his Master’s in Education in 2018. Mr. Robinson has spent the last three years teaching Social Studies at Garrard County High School. During his time in Garrard County, Mr. Robinson has also coached the Track and Field team at the high school as well as serving as a former assistant coach for the Football team. Mr. Robinson's fiancé, Lexie, is a nurse at the University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital. They have a mini dachshund, named Winston, that they rescued three years ago. Mr. Robinson says, "In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family, reading, being outdoors, and being involved in sports. I am excited to continue working in this wonderful district and joining the amazing staff at Garrard County Middle School!"
Garrard Middle School would like to welcome our new 7th Grade Social Studies Teacher, Mr. Ethan Lamb! Mr. Lamb recently graduated from the University of the Cumberlands with a degree in Middle School Social Studies and Special Education. In his free time, Mr. Lamb enjoys collecting baseball cards, umpiring, fishing, and watching sports. Mr. Lamb says, "I’ve wanted to teach my entire life, I look forward to beginning my teaching career at Garrard Middle School!

Meet Tricia Jackson, our APRN:
Tricia Jackson graduated with honors from Indiana Wesleyan University. She has been practicing as a Family Health Nurse Practitioner for four years. Previously, Jackson was an oncology certified nurse at University of Kentucky for twelve years.
Tricia Jackson has been a Garrard County resident since 2002 and says, "I am honored to be able to help my fellow Garrard county residents stay healthy and recover from illness. I look forward to making a positive impact on members of this community."
