Larry Caudill joins the Garrard County Schools staff with 25 years of K-12 experience. Larry has been a high school special education teacher, a high school assistant principal, an elementary school principal, and a middle school principal. We are excited to welcome Larry to the Garrard County Schools team.

Holly Young joins the Garrard County Schools staff with 21.5 years of K-12 experience. Holly has been an elementary classroom teacher, a curriculum and instructional coach at both the school and district level, an administrative learning specialist, and a middle school assistant principal. We are excited to welcome Holly to the Garrard County Schools team.

Garrard County High School JAG students visited their 3rd Grade CDR Pen Pals today! These students have been writing letters back and forth each week for the past few months. Today, they got to meet each other in person and do an activity together!





Ms. Clark’s GCHS AG students visited Mrs. McMullen's CDR Kindergarten class this week and taught a lesson about how seeds grow and the life cycle of a plant. After the lesson, they helped students plant their own seeds! They planted flowers, tomatoes, and watermelons. Mrs. McMullen's class said they can’t wait to watch them grow here at school and at home this summer when they take them home!🌱🍉🍅🌻





Be sure to mark your calendars for Saturday, May 7th 11:00AM-2:00PM! GCHS Gear Up will be hosting the Young Entrepreneurs Market in the parking lot of the Grand Theater. There will be jewelry, weighted stuffed animals, baked goods, homemade dog treats, school greenhouse plants, thrifted vintage fashion, student art and more- all brought to you by our GC students!
Don't worry about stopping and getting lunch before-the Piggin Out Food Truck and Snowy Ice will be on site! Come support our students!

GCHS 9th and 10th GEAR UP students visited the Campbellsville University Harrodsburg campus last week! The students enjoyed a campus tour including stops at cosmetology, barbering, welding, HVAC, plumbing, chiropractic, and nursing programs. Never too early to start thinking about your future!

Garrard County High School GEAR UP Leadership Club presents “Garrard Youth Entrepreneurs Market.” Garrard County Youth will exhibit their entrepreneurial and business skills through a day of leadership and civic engagement by marketing and selling their products to the community. Young entrepreneurs will be paired with a GEAR UP Peer Mentor for the day. Any GC student who is at least 8 years old can apply to sell their handcrafted or homemade goods at the market. There will be a 20 vendor max, so apply today to reserve your spot! We encourage all participants to bring their own table and chairs. The Youth Entrepreneurs Market will take place on May 7th 11:00AM-2:00PM at the Lancaster Grand Theatre- in the side parking lot.

Garrard County Schools would like congratulate Vivianna Weaver and Miles Terry for being accepted to the Craft Academy for Excellence in Science and Mathematics at Morehead State University. Vivianna was also accepted to The Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science at Western Kentucky University and will attend Gatton (WKU) in the fall, while Miles will attend Craft (MSU). These students will spend the next two years with other gifted and talented high school juniors and seniors from across the Bluegrass state! Congratulations to these GCHS students!👏🎉
